Even if you are an introvert, the world in which we live is going to be different for a while in terms of what we can, or cannot, do, how we interact and stay engaged with people, to the potential shift of what you do to make a living. It’s hard enough to go through one of these changes at once, but all three could paralyze you on how to go about solving for these changes.
Over the next few days we’ll share tips and strategies on how to live through this time by focusing on what is in your control to help keep you, your family, colleagues and friends sane and connected.
Today’s focus is how to move to virtual connectivity with colleagues, friends and family.
- Figure out the app(s) your colleagues, family and friends use for video calling and get them installed
- Plan to connect with your immediate family via this route at least once a week if not more frequently
- Who are your “fab 5” friends – i.e. the five you hang out with the most? Consider setting up a virtual happy hour once a week or sending a daily motivational text to help them weather the storm with you
- Have a book club or other social group that meets? Move it to be virtual using the above mentioned apps!
- Keep the economy going and do random acts of kindness for friends, family and colleagues by sending them something they don’t expect
We can do this together just remember your friends, family and colleagues need to hear from you more since they won’t see you for a while in the flesh.
